UX Researcher & Designer

    The UX Researcher & Designer will be a vital member of the product development team and report to the VP, Product Management. This role will work on a variety of products including virtual instruction/e-learning, web/mobile apps, automated messaging, and other digital intervention tools. This person will have the opportunity to own and lead the design and research components for various products and will work cross-collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

    This position is currently funded through August 2025. Duration of employment is limited to the duration of the grant.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Demonstrate and reflect the mission and values of the organization.
    • Proactively coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to fulfill mission and objectives of the job.
    • Design interfaces, wireframes, general front-end design, interactive learning courses, conducting user research and testing
    • Write user stories, personas, storyboards
    • Define UX metrics
    • Work collaboratively with teams outside of product development
    • Conduct and write user research/testing reports

    Additional responsibilities may also include:

    • Assist the team in guiding products from conception to launch
    • Support product team on completing all deliverables for funding agency/organization
    • Create reports of utilization of products
    • Support supervisor in meeting scope of work from funding agency/organization
    • Support learning management system course maintenance
    • Schedule, develop, and complete AV components of products
    • Conduct online product testing and synthesize data to improve online products
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree plus 4+ years of full-time professional work experience, experience can be in other industries or roles
    • 1+ years of UX/UI design
    • 1+ years of conducting user research
    • Experience with app and web-based products, as well as e-learning products
    • Experience co-designing technology for and with marginalized groups, such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or people using older, possibly out-of-date devices
    • Experience leading the discovery and research stage of product development
    • Experience interpreting data and qualitative feedback
    • Experience hosting inclusive focus groups with diverse product users
    • Experience integrating feedback from users who have very limited experience using newer technologies
    • Experience discerning when to use technology and when to build a non-technological solution
    • Experience successfully communicating between technical and nontechnical teammates at high level and in detail
    • Experience with figma, miro, jira, asana, adobe creative suite, articulate, and/or similar platforms
    • Compassion and empathy for those impacted by addiction

    Starting Pay Range: 

    $58,000 – $63,000 based on relevant experience and qualifications.

    Note: We are working in a hybrid capacity.  The UX Researcher/Designer will work in the New York City office at least one day per week.
